Our Mission
Two Directives
1
Micro — Local
Directive 1
On the micro level, CA-SURF focuses on progressive grassroots campaigns within local municipalities within proximity to individual chapters. Chapters retain autonomy over what local candidates they support and will be provided support in their endeavors. The organization will not deal with statewide endorsements; however, we will work closely with the Progressive Caucus.
2
Macro — Statewide
Directive 2
On the macro-level, CA-SURF aims to establish a rapid response network of California colleges to address national crises through unified protests. The campus ICE protests, while impressive in turnout, were not centralized. Our goal is to lower the barrier of entry for political involvement to create widespread unity amongst California's youth.
